i agree with you Circa, I saw both bands, MGMT and Arctic Monkeys. Arctic monkeys is bigger on the indie scene, but their fan base is mainly overseas. They rocked ACL when i was there. As for MGMT, they are known for just their two singles on the internet. And of which was better live, I'd go with Arctic. MGMT nfortunately sounds a lil less great...sigh

No Greeley Estates Or Oh Sleeper This Year. They just annouced a tour and they have dates book on both days of bamboozle.

Adam it is because they are on the Sony BMG label. That is the only reason. Easy promotion for their products as well as their artists.

I'd say Arctic Monkeys are bigger in the indie scene. Been around longer and are also a ton more popular overseas. Mgmt just hit mainstream success. The songs I heard from mgmt's new cd aren't impressive.
